This weekend will see an historic moment for Carp Angling within the military as the inaugural United Kingdom Armed Forces (UKAF) Carp Team competes for the first time.
After a decade of fierce Inter Service rivalry 2 pairs from each service, Army, Royal Navy & Royal Air Force will come together under the UKAF banner to compete against Carp Team Wales – International 🏴 & Carp Team Scotland 🏴in a 48 hour section match at Barston Lakes nr Solihull.
We are delighted to announce the 2 Royal Air Force pairings selected to represent the UKAF team are as follow;
1. Flt Sgt Jason Verney & Sgt Glenn Beardsall
2. Chf Tech Matt Whittaker & Cpl Martin Emery
The squad will also be complimented with the RAF Carp Team Manager – Flt Sgt Chappell, RAF Carp Team Secretary – Flt Sgt Hunt & RAF Carp Team Resource Manager – WO Cooke. They will be on hand to do the meet & greets and administration side of the event.
With the exception of representing your country, UKAF is the highest level that any Soldier, Sailor or Airman can aspire to. So a word of warning to our rivals….
“We shall defend our island, whatever the cost may be, we shall fight on the beaches, we shall fight on the landing grounds, we shall fight in the fields and in the streets, we shall fight in the hills; we shall never surrender”.
Please show your support for the UKAF Carp Team and follow along with updates this weekend. The event will be filmed and shown later in the year on BT Sports.
