ADO job description


Federation of Welsh Anglers are the lead partner in a collaborative project with the Environment Agency Wales and Sports Wales which is aimed at increasing participation in the sport of angling.  

The projects objectives are:

1. To increase the numbers of people participating in angling in Wales and to increase angling club membership.
2. To coordinate a programme of angling participation engagement activities, in partnership with the FWA’s regional coaching panels.
3. To generate more sustaining angling participation projects in Wales and to increase the number of qualified coaches active in Wales.  

In order to deliver these objectives the FWA is seeking to employ two part time Angling Participation Officers to cover North and South Wales respectively. The roles of these officers will be to:

1) Help coordinate and promote a programme of the angling participation events run by each of three regional coaching panels and to maintain a record of event attendees
2) To develop at least 1 new angling participation partnership project, this will coach a minimum of 50 new people per annum.  
3) To develop materials to assist clubs in developing their own coaching / introduction plans.
4) To support angling clubs in developing club participation / coaching plans  
5) To support angling clubs in identifying funding opportunities and help develop submit bids to cover coach training and event costs    
FWA are seeking individuals who have experience of working with volunteers, and in developing community/sports based partnership projects and funding bids.  Applicants should ideally have experience of angling and angling coaching. They should be self motivated and able to work independently. Experience in using appropriate IT software, such as Word and Excel, is essential.  Successful applicants will have to have a full driving licence and their own transport. The post will be home based.
Interviews will be held on Tuesday the 21st of June in Cardiff and Friday the 24th of June in N Wales or Newtown.
